I was chatting with a few of my Photography buddies scouting for a new location to shoot sunset in. One of them suggested the Top of World Park in Laguna Beach. I thought that sounded interesting. I mean I have been to the Center Of The World, perhaps it’s time to check out the Top of the World Park aka Alta Laguna Park. I should go here.
We decided to meet at the parking lot and take a short hike to the vista point. We scouted the area and used the PhotoPills app to check the angle and approximate location of the sunset.
Top of the World Park is a location with a panoramic view of the beautiful Laguna coastline and the surrounding canyons. It’s a perfect spot for hiking, biking and picnics. While waiting there for the right time to start taking pictures, one of my friends was showing us some pictures he had taken from his earlier visit.
We waited for the sun to go down a little bit and took some pictures when the sun was at the right spot. Believe it or not, the sunset happened so quick, and all of a sudden, it got dark. It felt like everything was over in 10 minutes or so.
I managed to get one last picture of the sunset just before the sun vanished behind the Santa Catalina Islands.
I will surely visit the Top of the World again and might explore the trails and see what is in store.
