One of the techniques that I like to use is long exposures. This technique helps me produce a simple and clean photograph. I constantly strive to capture a unique perspective of the scene in front of me rather than recreate what can be seen with the naked eye. I like to use my camera as a paintbrush to give my own take on a particular scene.
I also like the simplicity and uncluttered composition full of light and space. Long shutter speed comes about either by working in low light or by using a filter. This means that anything that moves gets blurred. The effect that it creates on any moving subject like water or sky can sometimes produce a dramatic and beautiful picture. Doing a long exposure is not difficult, but you do need to have a workflow to do the necessary things in the right order. Below you will see some images that I have taken using long exposures.
