The 6×17 aspect ratio for panoramas stuck with me for some reason.  I don’t know how and when I started using this format.  I got interested in panoramic techniques when I learned about the gigapixel project, an interesting concept. Sadly, I later realized how easily it can be abused when it’s not properly put into practice.

I used to stitch panoramas using Adobe Photoshop in various sizes and unusual aspect ratios. There was no uniformity in my panoramas.  The main subject in the scene started to dilute in the vastness of the image.  I quickly realized the mistake that I was making and started looking for some standard formats and for some reason ended up choosing 6×17. This quickly became my favorite format for my panoramic images. Below are some pictures that I have taken and refined over the years.
